MFS Investment Management has appointed Madeline Forrester as head of institutional business in the UK, effective 1 October 2014.
Forrester, who is based in London, will report to David Mace, senior managing director, EMEA with MFS Institutional Advisors.
“Madeline has extensive experience in institutional business development across multiple asset classes and we are very pleased that she is joining MFS,” says Mace. “With over 20 years of experience that includes portfolio management, sales, relationship management, consultant relations and product development, she will play an integral role in MFS' strategic efforts. We are already well known by investors and consultants worldwide for our equity capabilities. Now, with our expanding presence in fixed-income and quantitative solutions, Madeline's experience will be very important in offering a broader range of investment strategies to our UK client base.”
Forrester joins MFS from AXA Investment Managers, where she oversaw AXA’s UK institutional business. Prior to that, she spent 16 years with Threadneedle Investments where she served in a number of roles, including head of global institutional business. She began her investment career in 1988 as a fixed-income sales professional with UBS.
Forrester is a council member of the Pensions Policy Institute and currently chair of the DC Investment Forum.
“MFS is highly regarded, particularly for the quality of their investment offering and the collaborative culture it is based upon,” says Forrester. “I am convinced that both the existing UK institutional client base and prospective clients can benefit from the broad investment capabilities of the firm.”
In addition to focusing on UK clients, Forrester will be part of the global DC strategy team. She will manage the London-based UK institutional team and work with pension funds, insurers and consultants throughout the UK.
