Athene Asset Management (AAM) has appointed MUFG Investor Services, the global asset servicing arm of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, to provide business process outsourcing for certain middle and back office operations functions.

AAM is a Los Angeles-based investment adviser. Founded for the purpose of providing a full suite of investment management services to Athene Holding Ltd and its subsidiary companies, AAM specialises in investment solutions for the insurance industry. AAM currently manages over USD66 billion in assets.

Troy Spencer, EVP of business operations and compliance, says: “AAM selected MUFG to provide business outsourcing solutions and staff augmentation to support our growth. We have been impressed by MUFG’s flexibility in providing outsourced services specifically suited to our operating needs and unique business control processes.”

John Sergides (pictured), global head of sales for MUFG Investor Services, says: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to provide outsourcing services to AAM and be a part of their fantastic growth story. We work with a select group of prestigious asset managers who demand that we do more. We listen to our clients first and foremost, and this allows us to customise solutions to ensure we operate as a business partner for our clients and not simply as a service provider. Our relationship with AAM and the manner in which we provide their business process outsourcing is representative of our overall strategy, which is to offer onsite and remote solutions specifically tailored for each client across the widest spectrum of services and with the highest quality of people and technology.”
