Newton, a BNY Mellon Asset Management company, has announced that Robert Hay, one of its leading private client portfolio managers, is to take over the reins of the Newton Global Opportunities Fund.

The appointment follows the departure of Alex Stanic.

Hay joined Newton after university and has worked there for nine years. He previously managed the Newton Falcon Fund, a pooled equity fund created for Newton’s discretionary private clients, for the last five years.

He has also been alternate manager of private client fund the Newton Balanced Bridge Fund.

As part of his new role in Newton’s global equities team, Hay also joints the global equity model portfolio group where he will work alongside other senior managers such as Jon Bell, James Harries and Paul Markham.
