Nikko Asset Management (Nikko AM) has appointed Violet Pacileo (pictured) as Assistant Director of Product Management based in London.

Pacileo will be representing the Asia-based portfolio management teams in Europe, providing investors insight into Nikko AM’s investment products, strategies, processes and performance. Violet will be involved in all aspects of the positioning, communication, sales and service for the company’s Asian and Japanese equity products, reporting to Nikko AM Europe’s Director, Business Development, Lora-Ann Chiginsky and Kay Akast, Head of Marketing and Client Services.

Prior to joining Nikko AM, Violet was an Assistant Portfolio Manager on the Japan Investment Desk at Aberdeen Asset Management in Tokyo. More recently, Pacileo was part of Aberdeen’s global marketing and business management team for the Benelux region.

Pacileo joined Aberdeen in June 2008 from Merrill Lynch Japan Securities where she worked for two years as a research assistant in the Japanese automotive equity team, having previously spent 5 months in a similar role at Nomura Securities.

Charlie Metcalfe, President of Nikko AM Europe, says: “We are pleased that Violet has agreed to join us. We are always looking to add experienced individuals with a deep understanding of the Asian markets to our growing European business team. Given her portfolio management background and fluency in Japanese, Violet will be a vital London-based link between our Asian managers and European based clients and prospects.”

Pacileo says: “This is a great time to be joining Nikko AM and a real opportunity for me to be involved in a company that continues to grow in size and stature. I believe my experience in Asia will assist Nikko AM to spread its story throughout Europe.”
