Otkritie Capital offers access to Ukraine’s UX Index

RELATED TOPICS

Otkritie Capital, the investment banking arm of Otkritie Financial Corporation, is now offering institutional investors access to Ukraine’s UX Index Futures.

Launched by the country’s exchange (UX) in May 2010, Ukrainian Index Futures have rapidly become the most liquid investment and the only true way to hedge macro, with 30% of the market’s capitalisation and 85% of the total trading volume – as of January this year. Key industries include heavy machinery (25%), energy (18%) and telecommunications (16%).

At present, no global investment bank offers institutional investors access to the Ukrainian Index Futures, with only a handful of local brokers providing a limited version to regional clients. However, Otkritie Capital, which has led the Russian success story regarding RTS Index Futures also had its first client successfully trade this asset class on 16 January.

Luis Saenz, CEO of Otkritie Capital Inc, says: “Otkritie is determined to offer our clients and institutional investors alike, the most comprehensive access to all markets wherever there is industry demand, so that they can take advantage of the investment opportunities available to them. This latest achievement is exactly what Otkritie’s DNA is all about: innovation, unique access and transparency, and we will continue with this approach.”
