Parametric Portfolio Associates has added two new members to its institutional business development team: Gregory Bauer, Director – Business Development for the Southeast and, Julianne Williams, Associate Director – Business Development for the Western region.

"These new hires reflect our current and future plans for growth," said Parametric CEO Brian Langstraat. "Assets at Parametric have increased 42 percent over the past two years and we've experienced strong interest from institutional investors in Parametric solutions that are largely focused on managing portfolio risk."

Bauer and Williams are reporting to James Barrett who leads the institutional sales and service team. The team currently includes 15 members, and focuses on building institutional relationships with consultants and investors by supporting relationship management, and assisting with consultative sales and service of Parametric's growing line of institutional offerings.

In his new role, Bauer is responsible for promoting Parametric's products and developing business relationships in the Southeast region. Before joining Parametric, he was the Director of Institutional Services at Crawford Investment Counsel and had worked for the firm since 2011. Prior to this, Bauer served as a Vice President at Callan Associates, Inc, and as a Senior Consultant at NEPC, LLC. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) charterholder.

"Greg's background and experience in institutional sales will help us continue to build on our successes in the Southeast. His insights into both the consultant and institutional channels are a valuable addition to our team," says Barrett.

Williams is based in Seattle and is focusing on building new business relationships in the Western region. She joins Parametric from Russell Investments where she was the Director of Client Service – Indexes, and was responsible for overseeing a global team that managed over 1,000 client account relationships.

"Along with Julie's proven talents and extensive industry knowledge, she brings her own energy and enthusiasm to our business development efforts.  She is working with Doug Miller, Director – Institutional Relationships for the western part of North America, and is focusing on the mid- to large- market institutional organisations," says Barrett.

Parametric's customised solutions are designed to help institutions build, manage and protect their portfolios by increasing efficiency, maximising return, filling asset allocation gaps, and better risk management. These include customised, derivative-based strategies including a policy implementation overlay program, as well as rules-based, engineered product solutions which seek to deliver superior risk-adjusted performance.
