London law firm Payne Hicks Beach has expanded its Dispute Resolution Department with key lateral hire Lucas Moore. Lucas joins the firm as a Partner from Jones Day and his appointment is effective from 2 July.

Lucas draws from more than 15 years’ experience in international disputes to advise clients on a broad range of matters from contentious insolvency and fraud to corporate governance and shareholder issues. He has particular expertise in multi-jurisdictional disputes arising in financial services and international trade. Lucas’ client base consists of high-net-worth individuals, funds, banks and corporates across a number of jurisdictions from the Cayman Islands to Mauritius and Guernsey.

The Legal 500 – one of the chief legal directories – has described Lucas as being “calm and collected, and commands the confidence of clients and the respect of opponents” (2017), in addition to, “having the ability to explain technical and legal complexities in a practical and understandable way” (2017). Lucas’ expertise will complement Payne Hicks Beach’s leading Dispute Resolution Department which provides a broad range of services including privacy and media disputes, contentious trusts, financial services disputes and commercial and property litigation.

Lucas Moore, Partner at Payne Hicks Beach, says: “It is a great pleasure to be joining the Dispute Resolution team at Payne Hicks Beach. The firm is known for its first-class disputes work and representing clients in complex litigation at the highest level. I look forward to driving forward this prominent offering.”

His expertise will complement and further strengthen our thriving Dispute Resolution department. Lucas’ appointment reflects our continued commitment to recruiting talented individuals and ensuring that our clients receive advice and guidance from leaders in their respective fields.”
