Phoenix Investment Adviser hires Dixon Yee as trader

RELATED TOPICS

Phoenix Investment Adviser has named Dixon Yee as trader and senior research analyst.

Yee brings with him more than 20 years of experience trading in high-yield and distressed debt markets.

In this newly created role, Yee will help oversee day-to-day management of the firm’s JLP Institutional Credit Fund, which was recently seeded with USD40m by a large European financial institution.

Phoenix, a private investment firm specialising in deeply discounted, cash-paying bonds, manages more than USD500m and has raised close to USD200m in the last 10 months.

Yee will report to Phoenix’s founder and chief investment officer, Jeffrey Peskind.

“We are excited to have someone with Dixon’s investment acumen join our firm as we continue to see an increasing number of investment opportunities in our core markets,” says Peskind. “As Phoenix continues to raise assets, it is prudent to strategically grow our organisation with best-in-class talent.”

Yee was most recently a portfolio manager at Basso Capital Management and previously worked alongside Peskind at Banc of America Securities managing proprietary capital and trading high yield bonds for their dealer desk. Prior to that, he worked as an analyst at Credit Suisse First Boston, Chase Securities and Oppenheimer.

Phoenix has also named Erin Hubbard as senior associate of business development and investor relations for the firm. Hubbard brings with her more than eight years of experience in business development and marketing. She will report to Phoenix’s president, Michael Donoghue.
