Prescient Investment Management, a global investment manager with over USD6 billion in assets under management, has hired Gaurav Maleri as President, Global Sales, to be based in its London office.

Gaurav will be focusing on the promotion of Prescient China’s range of Irish UCITS funds, which use a systematic and quantitative approach to seek long term growth from Chinese markets across equities, fixed income and asset allocation strategies.

Gaurav has a 17-year career in asset management and private banking in both Europe and Asia. He joins Prescient from UTI International, where he was a Senior Vice President responsible for business development and marketing in Europe. Prior to that he was CEO of Reliance Capital Management’s UK business.

He has also held roles in Standard Chartered and was a regional manager in Mumbai with Reliance Nippon Life Asset Management.

“Emerging markets funds have played a big part in my career to date,” says Maleri. “I’m looking forward to working with the team at Prescient on building upon their existing success with their range of UCITS funds.”

“We are very excited to have someone of Gaurav’s caliber joining the business at this time,” says Liang Du, CEO of Prescient China. “Gaurav arrives at a time when Prescient is becoming increasingly global in its operations and reach and will form part of our growing London-based team. We are seeing increasing interest from investors in Europe for emerging markets strategies, including China.”

Gaurav holds an MBA from the Institute of Management Technology in Ghaziabad, India.
