Asset management firm River and Mercantile has hired David Peach as managing director of human resources, as the company looks toward the next stage of growth. Peach joins the firm from investment manager Rathbone Brothers where, as head of human resources, he has been managing the company’s HR team and providing learning and development oversight to its 1,500 employees.
Peach has spent over 30 years working for international and European organisations, and has broad experience across the finance, fintech and government sectors. His knowledge and experience in the asset management sector will be of particular relevance to the Group. He takes on the role from Ian Iceton, who is retiring, and Peach will start at River and Mercantile in June 2020.
James Barham, CEO of River and Mercantile, comments: “I am delighted to confirm David’s appointment. He brings with him a broad set of skills gained from many years’ experience in managing and developing a business’s greatest asset, its people. At a time when our people are all working diligently from remote locations, we understand more than ever the value of our people and David will be a key proponent in driving this forward. His experience in many of the fundamental areas in which our business operates will be a valuable resource as we continue the next phase of the group’s growth.”
Peach says: “I’m looking forward to joining James and the team at River and Mercantile. It is a richly diverse business represented by an equally diverse team spanning the UK, US and Australia. I’m excited to join the business at this time and to be part of the next stage of the group’s growth and development.”
