Jupiter has appointed Ross Teverson as head of strategy, global emerging markets, a newly-created role with responsibility for leading the emerging markets equities team at Jupiter.

Teverson has 15 years’ experience managing global emerging market (GEM) equities using an “unconstrained” style.

Teverson’s appointment is part of Jupiter’s plans to broaden and deepen the investment expertise of its global emerging markets team, with a view to expanding the product range targeted at domestic and international clients. A key part of his new role will be to leverage the skills and experience of Jupiter’s regional investment specialists with the aim of delivering strong, consistent investment performance across all of its portfolios.

Jupiter manages well over USD1 billion in assets across the breadth of the emerging markets spectrum. This range consists of: Jupiter Asian, Jupiter China, Jupiter Emerging European Opportunities, Jupiter Global Emerging Markets and Jupiter India Funds.

Stephen Pearson, head of investments at Jupiter, says: “Developing our global emerging markets capability is strategically important to Jupiter. It is a large and rapidly growing asset class where the opportunity to add value from an active investment style is significant.

“I look forward to working with Ross to build on the strong existing foundation, with a view to creating an industry-leading GEM investment business.”

Teverson says: “I am delighted to have joined Jupiter at this phase in its growth and look forward to working with everyone. This is an area of the market where there is a lot of potential to build our global client base through well-designed funds which meet investors’ requirements. Jupiter’s trusted reputation and emphasis on investment outperformance over the medium to long term are valuable aspects for delivering on our ambitions in the GEM investment arena.”
