Schroders has appointed Robbie Boukhoufane and Alan Wilson as Portfolio Managers within the Global Multi-Sector Fixed Income team.

Boukhoufane has been at Schroders for over six years and has over 20 years of experience working in fixed income and foreign exchange (FX) trading. Boukhoufane has been Global Head of Fixed Income and FX trading at Schroders since 2016. In this role he managed Schroders’ fixed income execution with a team of 20 specialist traders across four regional desks. Prior to this Boukhoufane was Head of FX Trading from 2012 to 2016, which involved working across a number of FX desks. In his new role, Boukhoufane will focus on building and expressing the team’s macro views in rates and currency markets.

Wilson joins from State Street Global Advisors where he was a senior portfolio manager focusing on global rates and FX. Prior to this Wilson worked within the Global Macro team at Aberdeen, where he started his career in 2010. He will be focusing on global macro strategies and working with the team to add alpha across the full range of Multi-Sector Fixed Income portfolios.

Schroders Global Multi-Sector Fixed Income team currently manage USD30.2 billion on behalf of clients across the globe. It is a well-diversified team that uses in depth research and a robust investment process to apply a truly global approach to fixed income investment, with no bias towards any country or sector. The team exploit Schroders’ considerable depth of resource, working with investment colleagues around the world to share expertise.

Boukhoufane and Wilson will both be based in London and report to Paul Grainger, Head of Global Multi-Sector Fixed Income.

“We’re delighted with the addition of two highly experienced and talented individuals to the team,” says Grainger. “Bob and I first worked with Robbie in 1999 at Gartmore. Robbie has exceptional experience in the field. He has been working alongside and adding value to the team for over 6 years and he is already well embedded within the team’s investment process and philosophy, so this will be a natural transition.

“We are constantly on the lookout for talented individuals who will add to the team and investment process. In line with this, we recently hired Alan Wilson who has strong experience in global rates and FX.”

John Troiano, Global Head of Distribution at Schroders, says: “There is strong demand from our clients, both within the institutional and intermediary space, for fixed income strategies. Schroders has a strong team-based approach and offering within fixed income and I’m delighted to welcome these two new additions.”
