Schroders appoints Theo van der Meer as Senior Adviser, Netherlands

Schroders has appointed Theo van der Meer as Senior Adviser for the company in the Netherlands. 

In this newly created senior role, van der Meer will focus on providing specific pension scheme guidance and governance to Schroders institutional clients in the region.

Theo brings with him significant experience and expertise in the pensions sector and specifically the appropriate regulations. Prior to joining Schroders Theo held the position of Managing Director and Head of Global Distribution at Barclays in London for the past four years. Theo has held senior roles at Fidelity, Vanguard, NIB Capital, Robeco and Amro Bank.

Michel Vermeulen, Country Head of Schroders Benelux, says: “Theo is someone who has the knowledge and experience to provide our clients with invaluable guidance in this time of change in the pension funds industry and where the traditional role of the asset manager is evolving. Schroders has always looked to engage with the companies in which we invest, we act as a business partner as well as an investor. Theo’s role will support this by providing guidance to our institutional clients specifically in the area of pension scheme strategy and governance.”

Vn der Meer will work alongside the well-established institutional team at Schroders in the Netherlands; this team includes Pieter Dalderop, Head of Institutional Clients and Caspar van Eijck, Client Relationship Management.​
