SL invests in management software for life settlements

RELATED TOPICS

SL Investment Management, a life settlement product provider, has invested in business process management software to help financial institutions enter the life settlements sector.

According to the company, life settlements can offer steady returns of typically eight to ten per cent

Fundamental to achieving these returns is the selection of the right manager with a tried and trusted methodology of policy pricing, due diligence and acquisition.

However, the policy buying process and the sophisticated due diligence involved has traditionally been very labour intensive for actuarial and administration teams.

SL has been working with the International Organisation for Standardisation to refine the new business process management software. It reports efficiency savings in policy valuation and bidding capacity of 87 per cent, increased business scalability, and enhanced due diligence capabilities.

Jeremy Brettell, chief executive, says: “Life settlements as an asset class is coming of age. Our business management process software delivers a step change for SL Investment Management and makes us the sector’s technology pathfinder. We are now ideally placed to satisfy the huge interest in life settlements coming from the institutional investment community and lead the next growth phase of the asset class. We can now offer a full range of both management and administration solutions.”
