RELATED TOPICS

Global investment manager, Standard Life Investments (SLI) has enhanced its Global Fixed Income offering with two new appointments.

Mark Kedar joins the company as a Sterling Credit Investment Director having previously held the role of Fund Manager, Fixed Income at Kames Capital for fifteen years, while Felix Freund joins as a European Credit Investment Director arriving from Union Investment in Frankfurt where he held the role of Fund Manager, Corporate Bonds.

Both of the recruits will report to Craig MacDonald, Head of Investment Grade Credit at Standard Life Investments.

Kedar will be responsible for managing Sterling corporate bond funds given the company’s growth in third party mandates and will further deepen its research capacity into Financials. Freund, meanwhile, will manage European Corporate Bond funds and focus on researching companies in the capital goods sector.

The appointments will further bolster the existing 26 strong credit team, who currently manage in excess of GBP71bn in fixed income securities including a wide range of government and corporate bond strategies across the credit spectrum. Standard Life Investments is a specialist in managing sterling and European corporate bonds and currently holds around GBP27bn in these assets.

Andrew Sutherland (pictured), Head of Credit, Standard Life Investments, says; “We are delighted to welcome Mark and Felix to the team at Standard Life Investments. Both are experienced fund managers with strong performance track records, as well as having extensive experience in their respective sectors which will prove invaluable to us – adding considerably to what is already a strong and talented Credit research capability.”
