Solactive has appointed Peter Diel as Head of Product Development with responsibility for running the firm’s index development departments.
Diel will assume combined responsibility for all three of Solactive’s product development teams across Equitiy, Fixed Income, and Complex Index Development. The consolidation of responsibilities allows Solactive to frame its processes in favor of higher efficiency and transparency of its index development business. Before joining Solactive, Peter Diel worked for 23 years at DWS and Deutsche Bank, where he has held various management positions, most recently serving as Managing Director in charge of Passive Portfolio Management for institutional clients in Europe and Asia.

The new hire is accompanied by additional changes in key responsibilities for established senior members. Steve Chew, formerly running the development and maintenance of the Solactive’s proprietary index calculation application as Head of Platform Management, will now assume responsibility for the company’s operations activities as Head of Operations. In his new role, he will be overseeing the ongoing calculation and publication of index levels as well as the management of indices over the complete lifecycle.
