S&P Global Ratings has appointed Mar Beltran (pictured), as Senior Director, Infrastructure Sector Lead, Infrastructure Ratings.

Beltran, who will be based in Madrid, joins from Australia- based Global Infrastructure Hub where, on behalf of the G20, she led policy work to identify priority reforms in infrastructure markets. As a senior director, Beltran advised governments of both developed and developing economies on governance, regulatory frameworks, planning and delivery of infrastructure initiatives.

Prior to this, Beltran spent a decade at fund management firm, AMP Capital. Leading a team that managed infrastructure, retail and institutional investor portfolios totalling approximately USD4 billion, Beltran was responsible for investment decisions, asset management and client relationships across several infrastructure investments and funds. Her previous experience also includes positions in senior origination and asset management for construction group, Ferrovial, and transport group, Cintra.

Beltran has sat on several infrastructure boards as a non-executive director, for projects including Melbourne Airport and Sydney-based Reliance Rail.

Susan Gray, Managing Director, Global Head of Infrastructure, S&P Global Ratings, says: “Mar brings a wealth of experience that encompasses both the investment and advisory worlds of infrastructure finance. Her familiarity with these fields will complement those of our seasoned team of infrastructure experts.”
