Standard Life Investments launches online training for institutional investors

RELATED TOPICS

Standard Life Investments is launching a portal of education tutorials to help institutional investors and advisers meet their professional development and training needs.

Learning Gateway provides a free online resource designed to help support institutional investors in meeting the investment principles addressed in the TKU (Trustee Knowledge and Understanding) Code and complements investors’ professional body’s qualifications and ongoing training.

Over 100 free training tutorials will be available to institutional investors via Learning Gateway and will include: equities, fixed income, real estate, derivatives, inflation-linked instruments, corporate governance, regulation, portfolio theory, asset allocation, securitisation and socially responsible investing.

Nuala Walsh, head of global client relations at Standard Life Investments, says: “Standard Life Investments is launching its online learning portal, Learning Gateway, to institutional investors as part of its global marketing strategy. With the current pressures in the pension world, there has never been a more important time to support our institutional investors.”

Vince Linnaine, chief executive, Pensions Management Institute (PMI), says: “It is encouraging for the PMI to see developments like this from Standard Life Investments. Learning Gateway offers institutional investors a range of relevant educational content to support them in meeting the investment principles addressed in the TKU code as well as their own personal development goals. The PMI is delighted to be able to accredit this learning for the benefit of institutional investors.”

All tutorials have been accredited as suitable for CPD purposes by a number of trade bodies including the Chartered Institute of Securities & Investments, CFA Society of the UK, Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) and the Pensions Management Institute.
