Stone Harbor Investment Partners launches Stone Harbor Emerging Markets Corporate Debt Fund

RELATED TOPICS

Stone Harbor Investment Partners LP (Stone Harbor), a global fixed-income investment firm focused on credit risk strategies and asset allocation, has launched the Stone Harbor Emerging Markets Corporate Debt Fund (the fund), a Dublin based, UCITS III fund. The fund launches with over USD450 million in investments from institutional investors.

The fund seeks to provide strong long-term returns by investing in a highly diversified portfolio of emerging markets corporate debt securities. The Fund will employ a fundamental value-driven investing approach, seeking to capitalise on the secular trend of improving credit quality and the significant inefficiencies of emerging markets. The fund will also benefit from the Stone Harbor team’s 20 year history and experience of investing and trading emerging markets corporate bonds and loans through numerous global credit cycles.

The fund underscores Stone Harbor’s continued commitment to an international business strategy, which has resulted in the firm’s senior investment professionals managing over USD35 billion in assets for clients world-wide, as of April 30, 2011.

Stone Harbor’s CIO, Peter Wilby (pictured) says: "As the emerging economies continue to grow and mature, we believe that emerging markets corporate debt provides an extremely attractive investment opportunity. We have designed the Fund to take full advantage of our significant history and experience in this asset class and are committed to pursuing superior returns on our clients’ behalf."
