Stone & Youngberg, a financial services firm and underwriter of California municipal bonds, has hired Richard Estabrook as a senior vice president to join its Chicago-based portfolio strategy group.
Estabrook will focus on mortgage-related products and brings over 20 years of experience in the securities industry to Stone & Youngberg.
‘Rich brings a wealth of industry knowledge and expertise to our organisation,’ says Kevin Schultze, the director of the firm’s portfolio strategy group. ‘As we continue to expand our national fixed-income business, especially in the MBS, CMO, and CMBS arena, Rich will help us meet the growing demand for top-notch analytics to better serve our clients.’
Estabrook comes from Stifel Nicolaus, where he was a senior strategist responsible for developing trading and investment strategies for total return and insurance company clients. Before that, he was head of research and analytics for a USD32bn total return investment portfolio at LaSalle Bank in Chicago. In addition, he spent five years with Piper Jaffray.
Stone & Youngberg, founded in 1931, is one of the oldest private investment banks operating in the US. The firm offers underwriting, advisory, and investment services across the country to state and local governments, non-profit organisations, and institutional and private investor clients.
