Stone & Youngberg, a financial services firm and underwriter of California and Arizona municipal bonds, has hired Stephen Collins in its private client group as a senior vice president and New York branch manager, responsible for building out the firm’s high net worth private client business in the Northeast.

Collins is the latest new hire to the firm’s New York office, which has added three individuals to its public finance roster in the past two months.

“Stone & Youngberg has developed extraordinary expertise in the high net worth private client business and we see tremendous opportunity to grow our business in the Northeast,” says Bill Evans, managing director and head of the firm’s private client group. “Stephen’s expertise and familiarity with the New York marketplace will be an asset as we expand in the region.”

Collins, a 25-year industry veteran, was previously responsible for institutional and retail sales and development at Laidlaw. Before that he was a sales manager with middle market accounts at Deutsche Bank Alex Brown.

He began his career with E. F. Hutton and has been a retail producer at Paine Webber, Prudential Securities and DB Alex Brown.
