T Rowe Price has hired Lorie Latham (pictured) and Michael Davis into newly created positions in its institutional Defined Contribution Investment Only (DCIO) business in the US.

Latham is a senior defined contribution strategist. In this role, she will consult with key institutional relationships on a range of strategy and policy matters and serve as a subject matter expert and thought leader on large-market defined contribution issues.

Latham comes to T Rowe Price from Towers Watson Investment Services (TWIS) in Chicago where she served as director and defined contribution strategy leader, providing investment consulting services to defined contribution plans. She also led the defined contribution steering committee responsible for the firm's strategy and thought leadership.

Prior to Towers Watson, Latham was a vice president with Ibbotson Associates and led the plan sponsor consulting practice and the portfolio construction team for managed accounts. Previously, she was a senior portfolio manager at JP Morgan.

Davis is the head of defined contribution plan specialists for T Rowe Price's institutional business. In this role, he leads the team responsible for expanding the firm's reach and strategic engagement capabilities in the US institutional DCIO marketplace. Most recently, Davis served as director of institutional client relations at Calvert Investments.

Previously, he was senior vice president and head of the stable value business for Prudential Financial. Davis also served as deputy assistant secretary for an agency of the US Department of Labor responsible for overseeing US private sector retirement and health benefit plans. There he was directly involved with the administration, management, and policy initiatives of the agency. Davis began his career at J.P. Morgan, where he held various senior positions over 17 years.

Latham and Davis, who will both be based in Baltimore, report to Keith Lewis, head of global investment services, Americas for T Rowe Price.
