Tom Baumann, Chair of ISO TC207 SC7, the International Organisation for Standardisation’s committee developing climate change related standards, has joined the Climate Bonds Standards Working Group.
The Working Group reviews the practicality of proposed eligibility criteria, looks at reporting and verification mechanisms, and operation of certification.
Baumann has 15 years experience in standardisation programs for climate change and green technologies, including standards development, verification, and accreditation.
ISO’s TC207 SC7 has published a series of standards used by nearly 40 countries around the world. These countries represent approximately one-third of the UNFCCC countries, as well as the majority of global GHG emissions.
Baumann says: “I look forward to helping develop credible standards for Climate Bonds, which are a solution with enormous potential for low carbon, sustainable economic development.“
