True Potential sees GBP1bn invested in diversified portfolios

RELATED TOPICS

Over the past 12 months, GBP1 billion has been invested in True Potential Investments’ discretionary-managed portfolios, which the firm says are some of the most diversified on the market.

The discretionary-managed True Potential Portfolios were launched in October 2015.

Fund managers include True Potential Investments, UBS, Goldman Sachs, Allianz Global Investors, Schroders, SEI, 7IM, Close Brothers Asset Management and Columbia Threadneedle.

The 10 risk-rated portfolios are managed at no additional cost beyond the fund charges. Investors have seen growth across the range of between 8 per cent and 19 per cent since inception and up to 11 per cent in the last three months.

Consumers can access the portfolios through the UK’s 24,000 financial advisers and directly through True Potential’s direct-to-consumer ‘robo’ platform, True Potential Investor.

The portfolios have access to over 120,000 investment vehicles, blending multi-asset funds, giving more growth opportunities while managing volatility. Each are rebalanced on a forward looking basis and clients benefit from different manager styles, asset and geographic regions in their professionally-managed portfolios. Sustainable returns are a theme for two of the portfolios designed and managed for clients who require a monthly income.

True Potential Investments’ chief investment officer Colin Beveridge (pictured) says: "Our portfolio proposition is attractive to investors because it uses passives and smart passives to lower costs alongside active strategies that exploit inefficient areas of the market.

“This makes great sense to clients and they see the value very quickly. They can understand that no single strategy across all periods is perfect. Our ability to blend great funds with different investment approaches, cost effectively, and manage risk confers real benefits for clients interested in maximising wealth over the long-term.”

Steve Hutton, head of UK & Ireland wholesale at UBS Asset Management, adds: "Reaching GBP1 billion so quickly in the True Potential Portfolios is testament to the quality of this unique and innovative investment offering. In particular, we believe it reflects how True Potential has focused on delivering without compromise a range of differentiated risk and return outcomes to end-clients in the most efficient and effective way possible using the very best investment expertise globally.

“At UBS we are proud to be a True Potential investment partner and look forward to the continued success of True Potential Portfolios.”

The True Potential Portfolios have a starting investment of just GBP50 meaning all clients can benefit from a proposition often only available to the very wealthy.
