UK fixed interest funds recover as multi-asset funds drop back

RELATED TOPICS

April net sales for the Skandia Investment Solutions platform saw a pick-up in flows into UK fixed interest funds after the rate of net flow looked to be declining earlier this year.

UK fixed interest net sales for April show the sector has now recovered, accounting for 21 per cent of sales.

The recovery in fixed interest was primarily driven through a significant increase in flows into Old Mutual Corporate Bond that took top spot in net fund flows in April on the platform.

Whilst the multi-asset sector remains the leading sector by net sales, sales in April were more equally proportioned between the top four sectors: multi-asset, UK fixed interest, global specialist and UK equity.

James Millard (pictured), director of investments at Skandia, says: “Investors’ appetite for equities and other risk assets remains, but it is still too early to say the so called great rotation is in full swing.  Easy monetary conditions in developed markets continue to be supportive of asset prices and investors continue to allocate accordingly, despite continuing soft economic growth in many markets.  Equity Income funds remain a focus reflecting the low real yields available from cash and government bonds.”
