Union Bancaire Privée (UBP) has appointed Marc Basselier as Head of Convertible Bonds and Alice de la Morinière as Senior Portfolio Manager, effective 1 December 2018.
Jean-Edouard Reymond, the previous Head of UBP’s convertible bonds franchise, will leave the Bank following a transitional period during which he will hand over to Basselier and his team.
Basselier is a well-known figure in the industry, having headed up AXA IM’s global and European convertible bond strategies team for over fifteen years, after his previous role as convertible arbitrage strategy fund manager at BFT. He is a mathematics graduate, holds an EMBA, and is a CFA charterholder.
De la Morinière has 15 years’ experience in bonds, with a special focus on convertibles. She held several roles at AXA IM, most recently those of European equity analyst and investment specialist for European equities and convertible bonds. She started her career at Société Générale, in the SGIB department. She holds a Master’s degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Paris V La Sorbonne, along with a Bachelor’s degree from ESCE Business School.
Basselier’s mission will be to extend UBP’s offering in convertible bonds, an asset class in which it already ranks among the market leaders. He will rely on a team of nine investment professionals based in Paris, dedicated solely to convertible bonds.
