US equity mutual funds see outflows of USD13.3bn in week to 14 January

TrimTabs Investment Research estimates that US equity mutual funds posted an outflow of USD13.3bn in the week ended Wednesday 14 January versus an inflow of USD6.4bn in the previous week.

Equity funds that invest primarily in US stocks posted an outflow of USD8.7bn, versus an inflow of USD5.8bn in the previous week.

Equity funds that invest primarily in non-US stocks had an outflow of USD4.5bn, versus an inflow of USD613m in the previous week.

In addition, bond funds had an inflow of USD3.9bn, versus an inflow of USD5.5bn in the previous week, and hybrid funds had an inflow of USD1.2bn versus an inflow of USD1.7bn in the previous week.

Separately, TrimTabs says exchange-traded funds that invest in US stocks posted an outflow of USD6.3bn, versus an inflow of USD909m in the previous week.

ETFs that invest in non-US stocks had an inflow of USD450m, versus an inflow of USD1.8bn in the previous week.
