VAM Funds has appointed James Cripps as an independent director to its two Luxembourg SICAV funds.

The appointment takes place with immediate effect.

Cripps was previously a partner in Slaughter and May where he specialised in the area of asset management, including the establishment, purchase and sale of asset management businesses, the structuring of investment, hedge and mutual funds and other types of collective investment vehicles and financial products, including cross-border and multi-jurisdictional investment management.

Michael Hunt, chief executive of VAM, says: “We have known and worked with James over a number of years and are delighted that we have secured his services, now that he has retired from the legal profession.

“In this increasingly regulated world he will bring a wealth of knowledge to VAM to ensure that we are fully compliant with the regulations wherever we are operational.

“We are delighted that he has accepted our invitation to join the VAM board.”
