Vanguard broadens access to Capital Opportunity Fund

RELATED TOPICS

Vanguard is reopening the Capital Opportunity Fund to all individual investors and removing the USD25,000 annual limit on additional purchases.

Vanguard closed the fund in March 2004, citing the need to keep it at a manageable size to protect existing shareholders.

After careful consideration of the fund’s current size and cash flow, its board of trustees determined that access can be expanded to individual investors.

The minimum initial investment is USD3,000 for Investor Shares and USD50,000 for Admiral Shares.

Vanguard has also expanded access for certain institutional clients to its Emerging Markets Select Stock Fund, Explorer Value Fund, and Convertible Securities Fund.
