Vela Trading Technologies, a provider of trading and market data technology, has expanded its senior management team with the appointments of Brian Cassin and Ollie Cadman.

Providing leadership across North America, EMEA and APAC, Cassin and Cadman will serve as joint heads of product and strategy.

Reporting to Vela’s CEO Jennifer Nayar, Cassin and Cadman will be responsible for driving product development, strategy and roadmap priorities across the firm. In addition, they will help to identify new market, partnership, and product opportunities through ongoing engagements with the firm’s global client base.

Based out of the company’s New York headquarters, Cassin has over 20 years’ experience in the industry as well as a solid knowledge of real-time market data, news, and financial content distribution via desktops, mobile devices, APIs, feeds, and more. He brings with him extensive experience in market data distribution and connectivity solutions having worked for S&P Global and Thomson Financial.

In his most recent role, Cassin served as managing director, product and content for S&P Global’s real-time solutions business, where he led a global cross-functional team of product, operations, business development, and support personnel, responsible for expanding and retaining the client base as well as delivering new market solutions.

Cadman joins Vela from Intercontinental Exchange (previously Interactive Data) and will be based in the London office. He has an extensive background in electronic trading, exchange connectivity, and real-time data. Cadman has held senior roles at Citihub Consulting, JP Morgan, and the London Stock Exchange.

Nayar says: “We are very pleased to be adding to our talent pool of subject matter experts with Brian and Ollie. They bring a wealth of experience to our management team, further demonstrating Vela’s commitment to create and deliver products that meet clients’ global needs.

“Their knowledge and expertise in product strategy and development will be instrumental in helping Vela continue to create, build, and deliver new and innovative trading and market data software products to the global marketplace.”
