Warsaw Stock Exchange appoints new president

Rafał Antczak has been appointed as president of the Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW) at an extraordinary general meeting held on 4 January 2017.

At the same meeting, Małgorzata Zaleska (pictured) was dismissed from GPW’s exchange management board.
 
The resolution of the general meeting to appoint Antczak and the resolution to dismiss Zaleska take effect on the date of delivery to the WSE the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) decision concerning the approval of the changes within the exchange management board.
  
Antczak was a member of the board of Deloitte Consulting from October 2008 until January 2017, and is an economist and manager with 20 years of experience in delivering projects for governments and private businesses from real and financial sectors domestically and abroad.
 
From 2006 to 2008, he served as managing director and chief economist at PZU Group, also developing company strategy, supervising financial investments on capital markets, and restructuring of daughter companies in Ukraine.
 
From 1994-2006, he was an economist at Centre for Social and Economic Research (CASE) Foundation and a member of advisory missions to Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
