Willem Schramade joins NN Investment Partners’ impact investing strategy

NN Investment Partners (NN IP) has appointed Willem Schramade as a senior portfolio manager for impact investing, further strengthening its sustainable equity team.

Schramade (pictured) will manage the impact investing strategy together with Huub van der Riet, lead portfolio manager, under the supervision of Hendrik-Jan Boer, head of NN IP’s sustainable equity group.

Schramade joined Robeco in 2007 as a global equity analyst focusing on the industrial and materials sectors. He drove the adoption of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors at Robeco.

Prior to joining Robeco, he worked at PriceWaterhouseCoopers and General Electric.

Jeroen Bos, head of equity specialties and a member of the global investment leadership team, says: “NN IP continues to expand its deep belief in sustainable investing and ESG integration, a field where we have been active since 1999. In combination with our strong capabilities in thematic equity investing we have taken the next step in sustainable investing by launching our Impact-driven equity strategy earlier this month. Willem’s arrival expands and strengthens our team further in an area where we see increasing interest from clients.”

The impact investing strategy is initially available in the Dutch market through the NN Global Sustainable Opportunities Fund and will focus on investing in listed companies that directly address social challenges alongside making a financial return. A Luxembourg fund vehicle for the international market is expected to follow at the beginning of next year.

Schramade says: “I am very excited about joining NN IP to contribute to its innovative activities regarding impact investing in the listed equity space. NN IP’s strong commitment to responsible investing and research-driven sustainable investment approach strongly appeal to me. I look forward to working with the team and to continue its growth and success.”
