William Blair Investment Management has appointed Lih-Yann Tan, CFA, as head of Asian Distribution, employed through its local affiliate William Blair International Singapore Pte Ltd. In this new role, Tan will be responsible for leading the firm’s institutional and wholesale distribution across Asia, bringing relationship management, deep asset management expertise and strong performance of William Blair’s investment teams to investors throughout the region. Tan will be based in the firm’s Singapore office and will report to Tom Ross, partner, and head of International Distribution.
Tan joins William Blair with more than 20 years of asset management experience in Asia. In her prior roles, she has held senior client-facing positions managing top-tier client/consultant relationships and has successfully led institutional business development in the Asia Pacific (ex-Japan) and Middle Eastern regions. She was most recently head of Institutional Business Development, Asia ex Japan at NN Investment Partners, and previously worked at Lion Global Investors Limited and DBS Asset Management (now known as Nikko Asset Management).
