Ogier maintains position as leading sponsor of CISE listings

RELATED TOPICS

Ogier remains the leading sponsor of listings on the Channel Islands Securities Exchange Authority (CISE), with more than a quarter of all listings on the CISE sponsored by Ogier's listings teams in Jersey and Guernsey.

The firm has a clear lead in listings of bonds, corporate debt and Special Purpose Vehicles.

Katrina Edge (pictured), who heads Ogier's European banking and finance team from the firm's Jersey office, says the market share figures demonstrate the team's expertise in listings.

Overall figures from the CISE show an 18.7 per cent increase in new listings and a 10 per cent increase in the market capitalisation of listed securities over 2016, and the growth could be set to continue.

Ogier's figures for 2016 show a 26 per cent total market share in overall listings and leading market share in the categories of corporate debt (64 per cent), bonds (38 per cent) and special purpose vehicles (31 per cent).

Edge says: "These figures are a welcome endorsement of the expertise and continued strength of Ogier's listing teams.

"It is positive to see growth in the number of new listings and market capitalisation of the CISE itself, which broke new ground with the first regulated bitcoin fund to be listed on any exchange.

"We expect to see further growth in this area in 2017 – a variety of factors including a renewed appetite for high yield bonds, the exchange's place outside the new EU Market Abuse Regulations and an increase in both private equity and intra-group listings paint a positive picture for the next 12 months."
