Berkeley Research Group (BRG), a global strategic advisory and consulting firm, has appointed Naomi Bowman as a Managing Director in its London-based EMEA Financial Services practice.

Bowman (pictured), will work with BRG senior management to continue to grow and lead the Financial Services practice in London, with a key focus on helping clients respond effectively to mandatory regulatory change and building high-performing legal, governance, risk and compliance functions.

Bowman has a wealth of experience in banking and professional services. She has notable experience working on prominent banking administrations, integrations and mandatory regulatory transformation programmes for global clients.

Bowman joins BRG from HSBC, where she most recently held the role of Global Legal Chief Operating Officer. Prior to this, Bowman held roles in PwC and EY, with a focus on operational effectiveness and regulatory change. She is a Chartered Accountant and Fellow of the International Compliance Association.

Bowman is a strong advocate for diversity and women in leadership. She has spoken at numerous events on these issues and was named the national winner of the Future Leaders Award by Women in the City in 2014.

Daniel Ryan, BRG Managing Director and head of the firm’s London office, says: “Continuing to build our team of senior industry specialists, and our capabilities and capacity in strategy and advisory services, is a key part of our international growth strategy and we are extremely pleased to have Naomi join us. We will benefit greatly from Naomi’s extensive market and leadership experience as we build BRG’s integrated financial services offering”.

Bowman says: “I am delighted to join BRG at an exciting time when the global financial markets face the risks as well as opportunities presented by regulatory and technological disruption.”
