Causeway Securities, the FCA-authorised structured investments specialist, has confirmed that the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has granted Approval-in-Principle to its subsidiary, Causeway Securities (HK) Limited. Full authorisation is expected imminently.

The firm writes that the approval marks Causeway Securities’ entry into Asia-Pacific and its sixth market since the firm was founded in Belfast in 2016. Once licensed, Causeway Securities (HK) Limited will offer professional and institutional clients in the region access to a range of defined outcome investment strategies.

Conor O’Donnell, CEO of Causeway Securities Ltd, says: “We are delighted to receive our SFC approval in principal and look forward to formally entering the region. With its robust regulatory framework and modern banking infrastructure, Hong Kong serves as the natural gateway to the wider Asia-Pacific region. Asia has led the way in technological advancements in the asset class and volumes consistently exceeded both the EU and Americas combined. The SFC’s approval marks an important milestone for Causeway Securities, and we have full confidence in our new Asia CEO, Edward Liu, and the team.”

“Asian institutional wealth managers, from brokers to sophisticated family offices, require two things above all: cutting-edge technology and a conflict-free partner,” says Edward Liu, Asia CEO at Causeway Securities. “As a strictly independent, pure-play structured product specialist with no competing wealth management arm, we are fully aligned with our clients. To support the region’s immense trade volumes, our fintech-driven approach provides a seamless, independent digital gateway to global issuers, allowing our partners to scale their structured product offerings with absolute confidence.”
