WisdomTree has announced it has waived 10bps of fees for the WisdomTree Physical Bitcoin ETP (BTCW), effective from 26 March to and including 31 December 2025.
The firm writes that during this period, the MER will be 0.15 per cent per annum, representing the lowest fee level amongst bitcoin ETPs in Europe. Barring any further announcement the waiver will expire on 31 December 2025.
The temporary fee reduction benefits new and existing investors in BTCW, the firm writes, saying that this reinforces WisdomTree’s commitment to providing investors with a simple, secure and low-cost way to gain exposure to the asset class. As a diversified, robust, and scalable ETP provider, WisdomTree offers crypto ETPs with highly competitive fees without compromising security or risk management, the firm says.
The USD880 million WisdomTree Physical Bitcoin ETP has over five years of track record and is listed on the London Stock Exchange, Deutsche Börse Xetra, the Swiss Stock Exchange (SIX), and Euronext in Paris and Amsterdam. In 2024, it attracted USD232 million in net new flows.
WisdomTree also brought USD520 million of net new flows across its range of crypto ETPs. These crypto ETPs allow investors to access cryptocurrencies without the need to hold them directly, store private access keys or interact with the blockchain or digital currency infrastructure in any way. Investors also receive access to institutional-grade storage solutions without needing to set it up with a custodian or maintain a digital wallet themselves.
Alexis Marinof, CEO, Europe, WisdomTree, says: “As the 2024 European flow leader in this category, we remain focused on meeting the demands of a rapidly evolving market, ensuring our clients have the tools to make informed, strategic investment decisions in an ever-evolving market. By waiving fees on our Physical Bitcoin ETP, we are not only enhancing cost-effectiveness but also supporting the broader institutional adoption of digital assets.”
